THIS SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Also, please forget what I said about the album being finished by the end of this year. However, do not forget what I said about actually finishing it. It is coming along. I took the previous tracks off my music page and will put some new stuff up there relatively soon. In the meantime, I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy Hanukah.

So..... OK. First off, I posted this in other places but not here, but the Delta-S album I'm on, Voyage to Isis, has been released. The song I sing in and co-wrote with Delta-S is "The Summoning Of The Sea." The album can be purchased here from CDBaby:CD Baby: DELTA-S: Voyage to Isis
It's also up on iTunes.

Second off, I know this has become something of a running gag, but I really am truly working on my own album. After a lot of thinking - too much thinking if you ask me - I'm back to producing it myself. Now, you might say, "But, Lauren, you tried that already and never finished." Yes, I know. The difference is this time I actually will finish it, and I would go so far as to say that it will be finished by the end of this year. I have a piano now, and I have a small guitar. I will play these things along with programming the stuff on the computer. I will also sing a lot on this album. Other instruments may be featured, but we'll see.

Songs have been added to the Music page. One is an unfinished Lauren Edman production, and two are demos, including the demo of Afterthoughts I sent to Sleepthief in 2004.

All right. After a long and shameful span of time, I have finally decided to give the job of "producer" to someone other than myself. I've had a few songs going, some coming along fairly well, but I don't have everything I need to get things to sound the way I want to on my own; so I have been spending weeks on the same few songs, tweaking them endlessly, to the point where all I want to do is shave my head and run around screaming. The person I have chosen as producer is Todd Mazierski. If you listen to his reel and hear any "ooh"s, "la"s, or "dee-dahh"s, that's me. As of this week, all the songs for my album are written and exist in crummy demo voice/piano form, and he is thinking up magical ways to make it happen.

I'm torn as to whether or not I should put up any of the unfinished Lauren versions on the music page. What I am thinking about doing is putting up the demo of "Afterthoughts" I made for Sleepthief, and maybe one or two Lauren Edman productions. I will continue to think about that and let you know.

Otherwise, I am working with delta-s in a song collaboration for their next album. That is nearly finished. Will let you know a release date when there is one!

Just a general update here...

I have several songs in the works that I think I might feel comfortable putting clips of up on the music page relatively soon. That's a horrible sentence, and yet it is true.

I also have a collaboration or two in the works that are just in the beginning stages.. will be more specific later. This is just to say that there are indeed things happening.

I can be heard on the Sleepthief album, The Dawnseeker, in the song "Afterthoughts," which I wrote and Sleepthief produced. The Dawnseeker was released on June 27th from Neurodisc Records and may be available in your local CD store, along with various online stores. You may also purchase it on iTunes; however, then you are missing out on the very lovely packaging.

Sleepthief is a collaboration between Justin Elswick, Israel Curtis, and some of the most acclaimed female vocalists in electronica. Here is the track list:

1. Eurydice (feat. Jody Quine)
2. Desire of Ages (feat. Harland)
3. You Did A Good Thing (feat. Nicola Hitchcock)
4. Just Say It (feat. Kyoko Baertsoen)
5. The Chauffeur (feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw)
6. Tenuous (feat. Jody Quine)
7. Sublunar (Sweet Angel) (feat. Kristy Thirsk)
8. Nightjar (feat. Caroline Lavelle)
9. The Metro (feat. Jerri Eckert)
10. Fire From Heaven (feat. Roberta Carter Harrison)
11. Kiss To Savor (feat. Jody Quine)
12. Afterthoughts (feat. Lauren Edman)
13. Entre Ciel Et Mer (feat. san.drine)
